Since I collect old radios, I have a keen interest in this. I may do a project similar to this, but I would rather not have the ports on the side. I'll have to check my stash of radios to see if any have a case that would be conducive to such a project. I'll post my progress (once I start) on my flickr account: http://www.flickr.com/photos/kt
