This is actually really cool. I've been looking for a project to hone my welding skills on, and my parents (and I when I'm around) cut and split 1.5 truckloads of wood every year with a chainsaw and a maul. While splitting a log with a maul is extremely satisfying, this would probably save them a lot of work.

Did you get a copy of this yet? The link still does not work and I would like to know how to build a log splitter also. Thanks.
