No User Serviceable Parts Inside? - a Maker's bill of rights...Mr. Jalopy has a list of "rights" I think we'd all like to see as Makers when we buy our gadgets, parts and equipment. Screws not glues, replaceable batteries, stuff like that. The days of the Color TV tube tester at the drugstore are gone, but why give up control of what we buy? Link. He has a completely wonderful point, but there will always be a fight between 'user servicable' and 'miniature', especially when design departments with a hatred of exposed screwheads get ahold of things.
Though I am currently happy that I found a set of mini-torx drivers in the basement, left by the previous owners of my house. I will no longer have any problems disassembling my old powerbook 540c...
