Record HDTV on Windows Media Center Edition w/ Firewire connection to STB

Mce For your Media Center PC folks out there- this is really cool. This package (firewire.zip) supports channel change and recording (SD/HD) via firewire, integrated into MCE. Channel change only works with the Motorola 6200/6208/6412 STBs and the SA3250HD/SA8000/SA8300HD STBs, recording works with other STBs. [via] Link.

  1. cejay says:

You can do this on windows xp, etc with VLC player or CAPDVHS (found on the web) and Panasonic drivers for the A/VC tuner driver that is found when you plug in your firewire cable from your 6xxx series STB.
Instructions found on AV forums (google) etc.
