DIY travel kit...

51446020 B6C0C352D3 M Julian writes "I am a traveler a tinkerer and a trouble maker, all things that require having the right gear at the right time for perfect execution of the adventure, but I hate carrying too much stuff with with me but having tools available at a moment's notice allows for quick action and seizing otherwise missed opportunities. So what is a boy to do? Welcome the TTTk, the kit I built to provide access to a variety of tools and supplies at a moment's notice. I constrained myself to an Altoids tin to make sure it was small enough for a pocket or bag with little inconvenience. The supplies render many McGuiver like solutions in the field but they are better then nothing." Link. It's all of course in an Altoids tin.

A cool idea, I was discussing with friends a few weeks back the daily kit of stuff you carry... I have in my backpack pretty much every day:

(1)Win XP Pro Thinkpad
(1)linux (Fedora Core 3) Thinkpad
(1)SOG Multi-tool
(1)Lockpick set
(1)4MP point-n-shoot digicam
(1)APC multi-power adapter/charger
(2)USB Thumbdrives (1GB, 512MB) with bunch-o-files (SSH client, browser, pics, lan/sniffing utils, etc)
(1)Treo 650
(1)Bluetooh earpiece
(2)Sharpie markers (various colors)
(1)Small bundle of zipties
(1)Roll electrical tape
(5)"No parking" stickers
(??)Business cards in other peoples names/titles.

plus a few other things I am sure I am forgetting.

The "No Parking" stickers fall under the mischief/troublemaking category ;)
