Cool. I made an autonomous car..but I didn't use a microcontroller. I've mounted a webcam on the car..and my computer determines if there's an obstacle in front of the car or not. If it senses an obstacle, it commands the car to stop, wirelessly: http://ashishrd.blogspot.com/2007/02/autonomous-rc-car-with-laser-based.html
