Yeah, this is a nice trick, but not original though.
I've seen a Porsche 944 turned into a backwards mod, same as this one with the steering in the back.
The only thing is, for making it ready for the road you have to switch the lightning too. Otherwise it is an invalid car and can get a fine in the Netherlands.
But yeah, those guys can stand the heat of pulling a nice car into pieces and plumb it back together to something new.

What's going on with the wheels? Do both the front and back wheels turn?

Haha, this video has been around the car forums for years and years. Funny stuff. What they did is put an engine / transaxle from another FWD car in the back of that little car turned around backwards. That's why the wheels stick out too far, it's from a completely different car. They also transplanted the steering from the donor car, so all 4 wheels steer. Of course this isn't a street-legal car, it's a rolling accident waiting to happen, the lights being backwards is the least of their concerns :) Doesn't mean people won't do stuff like that anyway.

I remember seeing a film from the 40s (or thereabouts) where a guy did the same thing (so I think it's safe to say that this has been around for a =long= while). I can't for the life of me remember the name of the guy that did it, but he had a bunch of other great pranks (like a "fish magnet" that he would wave over the water and fish would come flying out, and a christening bottle that wouldn't break unless you held it just the right way).
If anyone can remember his name, I'd love to know...
