If you just go to google.com in a WAP enabled browser google detects it and will translate any page you search for into WAP on the fly. It's very impressive. Its local search is also very good for finding local restaurants, it's got great driving directions, and even has a mobile option for searching pages designed in WAP only. Its local and gmail cell phone java applications are also supposed to be very good, but they won't run on my phone. :(
