HOW TO – Make Hydrogen

H2GenplateclampNeat how-to and video from Troy…“This is my hydrogen generator that I built Using stainless steel switch plate covers. You may be asking, Why switch plate covers? Well in the area I live in I was having trouble finding Someone to sell me a sheet of stainless steel and cut it for me. So I was in the Home Depot (a local hardware store) And I ran across switch plate covers made of stainless steel. All cut to size and all uniform. Well this made it too easy for me so I bought them About 36 @ $1.24 ea. I thought it was kind of expensive but what the heck. I was not getting the generator built waiting for a deal to drop in my lap. So on to the building of the h2 generator.” Thanks Jason! Link.

COST EFFECTIVE PRODUCTION OF HYDROGEN FOR FUEL CELLS

Back in 1977, I wrote the head of the U.S. Energy Commission about a study I’d conducted re hydrogen energy. In that letter, I noted facts that continue to this day; that we are manufacturing only 10% of the potential hydroelectric power available to us in this country, and that the reason we aren’t tapping more hydroelctric power is because electricity can only travel apx 600 miles over power lines before it’s usefullness is dissipated. That geographic limitation has meant we only tap that portion of hydroelectric power that can be used “locally”.

My suggestion then, as now, is that we add generators to existing dams that will allow them, add dams where we currently don’t need them, use ocean wave generators in unpopulated/unscenic areas in order to make and store hydrogen for fuel cells, nearby. The concept of localized hydroelectric electroysis plants remain a viable, cost effective method of producing hydrogen in massive, unending quantities.

In my opinion, no other alternative fuel source can be produced as cheaply and cleanly, for use in all areas of the country, and for use in powering not only cars, but even entire home energy needs, as hyrogen

Dr. Phillip Kanarev of the Kuban State University, Department of Theoretical Mechanics (Krasnodar, Russia), says there is a method of generating hydrogen from water that is 1,000% efficient.
