Via Martha Stewart Living (insert joke here) we found a trick that involves a pre-wash soak in boiling water with lemon slices. After the soak, just do your laundry as you normally would, and hang it to dry. No bleach, and superwhite whites - behold the power of citrus!

The Loon: Solar-Powered DIY Pontoon Boat Ah, the seafaring life. For most, this is a life of nature, tranquility, and... well, pollution. Monte Gisborne is out to change that. He rigged his pontoon, The Loon, with a 738 watt solar panel to give himself clean, not to mention free, power for those sunny summer days. His backup plan isn't too shabby either. Eight 6-volt batteries allow him to plug the boat in at night, and still be ready if the skies are overcast. It makes you wonder why it has taken so long for other boaters to solarize their rides.

DIY iPod Bicycle Charger If you drive your car everywhere you go, there are plenty of products on the market to charge your iPod while you drive. Transport via bicycle, however, brings a host of difficulties for your iPod, namely what to use as a power source. Well, look no further than your feet. Mark Hoekstra built a bike charger for his iPod mini that uses only pedal power to build a charge. After a few rounds of tests with varying degrees of success he is still working out the kinks, but it seems he is well on his way to perfecting it. All I can say is, I want one.
