The guys at Spark fun made their own reflow with a skillet – “Spark Fun has barely had the capitol to invest in a hot-air rework station, let alone pick and place machines and industrial reflow ovens. Luckily, as business has increased, revenue has allowed us to purchase a few bottom-dollar machines to help with manufacturing. I’m here to tell you, it was all a waste of money…” [via] Link.

    I’ve bought parts from these guys and have been extremely impressed with their customer service, quality and price.

    Also, they’re the only place I know of where you can get USB connectors (mini b or regular b sized) in small quantities without paying loads.

    My dad is one of the only people in the US to manufacture Vapor Phase soldier reflow machines. So I wouldn’t have to resort to that if I wanted to do some reflow.
