Oliver has a lot of fun projects on this site - "Homebrew hardware, including a homemade TIG welder, focus fusion, and other HV/High risk pursuits" - Link.
TIG (Tungsten inert gas) is also known as G.T.A.W (gas tunsten arc welding) or sometimes helearc which refers to the use of helium in the origanal desigs, and confusingly a patanted design to spiral air in plasma cutting torches (a compleatly different proces)
TIG welding is used when a very accrate and neat weld is required. it also has other advantages, for example Copper, titanium and aluminium can be welded. - Link.

I hope he pays more attention to safety than he does to his spelling and grammar.

Yeah, I've noticed that's been happening a lot with evil genius experimenters lately. Writing skills get lost in the shuffle.

Hehe! this site was something of a prototype being the first site i have made. Stuff tended to be written after a long day of building said stuff so spelling and tyops went by the wayside in the rush to show off my latest creations to my mates :) i guess now I'm famous I'll have to improve it!
