Nice idea, but I see what may be a major flaw in the implementation.
This thing is designed to hang in the sunlight so that the plant can grow heavy with fruit. That same sunlight also degrades the plastic in bags like this, making it brittle. I would not be surprised if, one day, the combination of the increasing weight of fruit and increasingly degraded bag-handles resulted in a rather messy, gravity-assisted crop loss.
Perhaps this is a use for those Macrame pot-hangers from the 70's?

For a while, I've been wondering how they made this installation at Mass MoCA...not nearly as difficult as I'd guessed!
