That looks pretty cool, but it doesn't seem like it would be very safe. Most rope lights I've encountered get very hot after being on for more than an hour; weaving it with yarn sounds like a fire hazard. I would think that walking on the rope lights would also cause sections of them to go out pretty quickly.

You can use low voltage rope light. You can also find good pricing on the rope light here!
