Who defined it as a space ship? I mean maybe if he wrote SPACESHIP on the side we'd understand it is supposed to be a representation of a space ship, but as it is that kid just looks like he's riding around in a bomb. Maybe if he took the skirt off the back end it would look like an old cartoon space ship more.
Also, that kid doesn't look like he's smiling.
