Shoes made from recycled stuff...

I've always wanted to make my own shoes out of weird things, but for now, when I go shoe shopping I try and buy shoes from folks who are doing that now. The first pair I have are called "Worn Again" - Link.
They have a new lineup, the shoes are made from old coffee sacks, surplus jackets and jeans - all 99% recycled.

Next up, Blackspot v2 shoes - the soles are made from recycled car tires, I can't seem to wear them out - Link.
This concludes MAKE fashion.

Blackspot V2s, just wanted to give a review based on my experience.
I still rock my first pair of Blackspots, the Chuck Taylor knock off. They are really well made, and have lasted me for a quite a while.
When I received my V2s (the shoes in the above picture) they came with several defects. The white rubber thing was hanging off the side of my left shoe, and the inside of the boot was only partially lined (missing about %40 percent of material). Also after a few days of light use the front black toe cover came unstitched.
I understand crap happens, so I contacted Adbusters about the defects and they asked me to mail them back the shoes using regular mail. So about a month and a half later I receive a box from Adbusters containing... the wrong shoes.. They sent me V1's.
So I called and they took care of the situation, this time without using the regular mail that takes about 3 weeks to deliver. I receive my second pair of Blackspots and wore them for about a week before the seam on the top of the right boot came unstitched.
No I just bring them to my local shoe repair shop and they have restitched the shoes. I love the look of them, but was really disappointed with the qaulity (for such an expensive boot).
