Professor John C. Bean from The University of Virginia Virtual Lab writes - "I completed the podcast conversion (including narration) of the "UVA Virtual Lab" webpage explaining "How Semiconductors and Transistors Work". If use of this podcast materializes, I'll proceed with conversion of additional webpage presentations to podcasts. Suggestions welcome on which website pages might garner the most interest." - Link -

This podcast is drawn from the "UVA Virtual Lab" which uses 3D virtual reality animations to explain electronics, microelectronics and nanotechnology. This podcast explains how semiconductors work and how they are made into the transistor switches that power modern integrated cirtuits - click here to get the podcast!

I got my EE from Virginia about a decade ago, and as part of my last year project I whipped up a bunch of renderings of semiconductors undergoing various processes in form-Z and put the whole enchilada up on the web. Unfortunately it's been taken down, but I just grabbed a couple of the images off the wayback machine and stuck them in my flickr...
