Pretty cool. I could see putting these in public parks. But I wonder if there is another ground cover that uses less water, doesn't need to be mowed (or cut less often) and is as comfortable as grass?

Wouldnt water colect in the seat?
And is it really that hard to not double post?

No! This is not a joke. I saw this in the Hawkins Bazzaar Catalogue two years ago, if it worked it would maybe be alright but the price of 65 pounds is enough to put most people off.

I first saw this picture a couple of years ago in context with a contemporary art show. I've wanted to make one ever since, but have been held back by my lack of a yard and my concern that the grass wouldn't grow to well along the sides. I suppose if you lived somewhere humid it would work.

Wouldn't it be simpler to pile dirt, pack it down, and shape it. (doesn't look to comforable without a back rest)
