Hey...25% tetramethylammonium hydroxide is only 183 dollars per 100 ml from Fisher Scientific.
If you're feeling inclined, you can get 25 grams for 40 bucks and then make up the solution yourself (same source.)
As for safer- tetramethylammonium hydroxide is classified as an "extreme danger" to health by the NFPA. Granted, you're not using much, but I'm not sure I'd want my kids (if I had them) near it.
