Nintendo DS lite has arrived!

Yah! The Nintendo DS lite i pre-ordered from Liksang has arrived! Here are some pictures of it, I also picked up the Japanese version of Electroplankton, it's a "game" that makes music with little sea creatures - using it to record soundtracks for movies...

Quick review - it's tiny, bright and elegant. You like the DS? You like DS lite even more. I can't wait until Opera ships.

Is the lite like an imported playstation? Or is Nintendo cool enough to skip all that region type crap? I wouldn't want to be stuck importing games.

it can play all the games, nintendo gets it.

My only problem with the DS is that it can't play the oldschool Gameboy Color Carts, which wouldn't be a problem if they just released the original Super Mario Brothers on GBA or DS. Regardless, I love my DS. Congrats on your DS Lite pt. Kinda wish I'd waited...

Cheers

Hey E, they released SMB for GBA as part of the Classic NES Series. Check it out!

I just got my DS Lite from Lik Sang also, except I'm rocking the Enamel Navy, not the White. Its much improved over the original DS. The size difference isn't quite as drastic as I would have hoped but the screen brightness is amazing and the speakers are better too. Oh and the larger stylus is a plus, though they dropped the thumb stylus, an instresting choice.

Electroplankton looks cool, but I've been busy with Tetris DS. PT, you must tell me if you have this so we can get some online play going. Post if you have it I'll IM you my friend code!

Well, to answer your question. The Nintendo DS and it's makers, as you say, would skip al that crap. And if their contract with Capcom was still valid, that would be proof right there. Cuz' everyone knows Capcom rules, and doesn't import.
