Homemade hot tub

Tulecanyon writes "Hot tubs cost way to much. I have been using a home made hot tub for years. If you are just looking for a good soak, this is the way to go. In my case it is therapy for an old back surgery. There are many strategies to heat your tub. Here are a few that work for me." - Link.

Ugh, why even bother linking to a Geocities site (bandwidth exceeded)...sounds like an interesting project though!

I can heat a play pool to 110F in under 1 hour and a 8000 gallon in ground pool to 89.4 in 2 days. I believe you could heat your hot tub in about 2 hours with a gill heater like the one my daughter and I invented. I was in the Maker 2005 book p124 and in the Maker Faire 2006 at San Mateo. I have a link to a video interview by CNN Headline News on my website you may find interesting too. I will be posting a "How To" video with some tips and tricks to making your own grill heater (aka - redneck pool heater)in the near future.

In reference to my last post below...
Sorry, The link to the CNN interview now requires you to sign up for CNN Pipeline News so I'm taking the link off my website.
