Emeka from the Timbuktu Chronicles sent in the Fully Belly project, a worldwide effort to build peanut shelling machine in developing countries - "The vision of the Full Belly Project is that the residents of rural communities in developing countries live lives of abundance - that they awake each morning to days of economic possibility and go to sleep each night with bellies that are full. Our mission is to relieve hunger by taking advantage of the highly nutritious properties of peanuts through appropriate agricultural technology. What a Wonderful Machine!
I live in Beverly Hills, Ca, not Uganda, but I (and I'm sure other people like myself) could really use a smaller household model; or even the same model for this invention; but don't know who to contact, or if it's possible for me to obtain the materials to build myself! If it was a bit smaller I think I would even consider helping to market it.
As a health food enthusiast, raw, organic,and seeds IN SHELL (because they are not as rancid, or expensive, and are much more fresh when bought in this way) are my main source of protein. At this point however, I feel like the oppressed women in Uganda trying to live a healthy lifestyle versus having extra spare time!
