Make Podcast: Rube Goldberg Contraption Machine Made Out of Sticks and Stones
When I found out that Jesse and Nate make Rube Goldberg style contraptions, I challenged them to come up to my family's nature preserve and make a contraption out of sticks, stones, and twine.
We gathered up on Whidbey and for a weekend messed around in the woods during the day and roasted marshmallows on the beach at night. Andru came up with the idea to use threesomes of stones to form a wandering domino effect and Jake transformed into a human sawing machine.
Make sure to check out Nate's 3D photos of all the setups over at cre.ations.net! Check back soon to see the "making of" video with tips and tricks for making your own Rube Goldberg contraption machine!

Lovely concept - a great pity that the combination of camerawork and dappled-light leafy textures being absolutely the worst subject ever for video compression makes it rather hard to see what's going on.
The MP4 file is a smidge clearer than the YouTube version, but there's a typo in both the direct and iTunes link. It should be this.
The materials and environment made it rather difficult to see what precisely was going on, though the parts I did see were impressive. Oh, any by the way, in case you didnt' notice, you've got a bit of duplication. Oh, any by the way, in case you didnt' notice, you've got a bit of duplication. ;)

that's really cool that it follows the same concept and rules of a more conventional rube goldberg design, yet it uses all stuff you can find outside!
nice one. it's kinda hard to see everything, but whatever.
i made a rube goldberg machine for school a little while ago, it used the gauss rifle in issue one of make, and a bunch of other nerdy devices to cut open an egg.
