Fathersdaycard

Reminder - today is the last day to get something for Dad! Read on for a special link to get MAKE for 50% off the cover price (USD).

You waited until the last minute and didn't get dear old Dad anything huh? Well, don't fret we've put together a few gift ideas you can get/MAKE Dad and end up being the favorite offspring...

Homemade "Who's your Daddy" - "I'm your Daddy" shirts

Fathersday3Fl
It's pretty easy to make shirts, and here's a good idea for Father's day from the Craftster forums - matching "Who's your Daddy" - "I'm your Daddy" shirts.

Here's are some how-tos and articles on making shirts to get you started, all super cheap...

  • Make T-Shirt Stencils from Freezer Paper - Link.
  • HOW TO - Silkscreen posters and shirts - Link.
  • Cheap Screen Printing - Link.

Cufflinks

Post-Levelcufflinks
Sure you could buy a pair of these level cufflinks, but $45 is 'spensive! Pick up a couple cheap levels from the local dollar store and mod them, a little super glue should do the trick... If Dad is a geek or a LEGO fan, check out these other homemade cufflinks...

  • Recycled Transit Token cufflinks - Link.
  • LEGO cufflinks - Link.
  • Ethernet cufflinks - Link.

Are you crafty? Make Dad a tie...or a giant skeleton hand tie rack

We looked around for DIY tie sites, there aren't that many - but here's one - you need to email the author, but the instructions look great.
If that doesn't work out, you could always make a giant steel skeleton hand (and coat rack) that could easily be a tie rack too. All the Dads we know love giant steel skeleton hands - Link.

DIY LCD Photo frame

Not a old photo frame, for printed pictures, no way! A LCD photo frame - seriously, you can hit the local Wal-Mart/Target and score a photo frame for (usually) under $20 - then check out ALL these how-tos and mods to make a LCD photo frame that Dad will freak out on. Finally, we feel better about posting all those projects, shew - do it for Dad! - Link.
If you want to go low tech, check out the DIY CD jewel case photo frames too...

Homemade wallet

  • DIY Plastic bag wallet - Link.
