A Maker reader writes in with this find... "SPLat is a company that I ran across that has some rather interesting embedded controller products. For under $100 you can get a module with 2x16 backlit LCD, buttons and LEDs. It has 12 I/O's and even does floating point arithmetic. $20 less gets you a model sans LCD. Now if only I had the time to play...." - Link.
