Solve Sudoku (Without even thinking!)

Delgaudm writes - "This instructable provides step by step instructions to complete a Sudoku puzzle by simple process of elimination. One of the things I that drove me crazy about Sudoku is how difficult it is to return to a puzzle if you get interupted. This system allows you to walk away from a puzzle at any time and return exactly where you left off." - Link.

Cricket controlled computer game

Jonas writes - "Animal Controlled Computer Games is the graduation project from Wim van Eck, a study college and friend of mine. In his project he build a Pacman game, in that the player can play Pacman against real crickets, that controls the ghosts in the Pacman maze. By doing this he analyzes the advantages and disadvantages of real-time behaviour of live animals in comparison to behavior-generating code in computer games." [via] - Link.

Bicycle universal mounting bracket

Fireballxl5 writes - "For father's day I got a Magellan eXplorist 200 GPS, and I wanted to be able to use it on my bike. But in checking out Magellan's website they wanted $39.99 for a mounting bracket plus $6.00 S&H. Well, I knew I could make one for less then that (actually ~$20.00)..." - Link.

Control Freaks - turning objects into game controllers

This is neat, a project that turns any objet into a game controller - "Control Freaks are devices that attach to everyday objects, turning them into interactive game play objects. When the Control Freak attaches to a host object, its movement, vibration or sound, can be translated into control functionality for a game. The situation, location and behavior of the host, are all enablers for opportunistic play experience. The Control Freak device therefore enables any object in any situation to become the focus of play adventure." [via] - Thanks Pattmyn! Link.

Modding a Beatmania controller turntable

DanAdamKOF writes - "...modifying your beatmania controller's turntable will allow it to move more easily. The increased sensitivity will especially benefit pinky scratchers who find that they aren't moving the turntable enough due to it being too stiff, but this mod is for everyone who thinks that their turntable would be improved by it being looser." - Link.

Heat activated color changing paint

This heat activated color changing paint looks like it would be a lot of fun for projects, a tub/shower that changes color based on temperature is awesome - "Eclipse is a single event heat reactive basecoat that changes from Black to White or from Blue to White. Eclipse can be sprayed through any standard paint equipment. For the most brilliant white change, Eclipse should be applied over a white base. For unlimited possibilities try putting a Candy Concentrate over the Eclipse." [via] - Link.

Spiral Crochet Hats
Ruth of Wooly Wormheads Ripping Yarns has her technique of creating spiral knit hats up on her blog. Each spiral takes just about 5 to 20 minutes to make and t's a great way to get rid of odd bits of yarn in your yarn stash. To make this green hat here it took about 32 different sized spirals. Link.

Boombox messenger bag

Cereallad @ Craftster made a functional boombox messenger bag for his iBook, he writes - "Basically I hollowed out the boombox, added hinges and clasps, created a foam interior, created a strap attachment, and... well, attached a strap. Now it holds my ibook and one or two other books. With rudimentary electronics skills, I wired the boombox to play music from the laptop or from any ipod/walkman/etc that you place inside. I added a small amplifier that I found on some toy speakers to increase the sound volume and quality. Don't worry, I respect others when I play music. It's my school backpack first and foremost." DIY Video game character mosaics

Houdini writes - "...Knowing nothing about how to do tiles mosaic and where to by the stuff, I started to do some searchs on google image to find an appropriate drawing to convert into mosaic. With a bit of luck I knew I could find one that will exactly fit my wills : not too small, and not to large. A 25x25 tiles mosaic was my absolute limit as it's already involving 625 tiles. I finally failed in google images, and before starting to convert a bigger image into a smaller one, I did some extra effort to find an original sprite with the size I wanted (pixel design is so well done that I couldn't expect to get the same quality by myself). I finally found the exact 18x18 pixels image I wanted, in a backup of a nintendo GameBoy Advance cartrige. I had to extract the content and one particular design on a splash screen fitted my needs perfectly." - Link.
