I know its not in the spirit of make, but he could have gotten the magellan one off of ebay for 19.99 +6.95 Shipping and not had a hacked together solution.
I really only feel the need to make something, IF I can make an item look cooler(customize it) or make it for REALLY cheap compared to the commercial version.
Besides, looks like he spend some decent money on the bike, who wants velcro messing it all up.
