I too made this fine bench over the weekend. It's really solid and the design is top notch!
There is so little lumber left over - it's really cool.
I found a can of stain/urethane at the local "lots" store for $3 so now it has a nice finish on the top

Fantastic!
One quick addition that might become usefull is to put a cross brace along the backside. If you find over time that is starts to get a little wobbly from side to side, the diagonal cross brace will help. Best of luck making stuff on it!
