Embedded Linux starter kit

Adding to the list of interesting kits... EMAC has a $399 embedded Linux starter kit - "Embedded computers are integrated into all sorts of common equipment, from soda machines to incubators. Since these systems require high reliability and low failure rates, more and more companies are loading Linux onto these embedded computers. The Linux Starter Kit (LSK) contains everything you need to get familiar with Embedded Linux Systems. Included with the LSK is a Linux "Getting Started" document takes you through the menu driven configuration program and follows up with exercises using Telnet, FTP, and the Boa Webserver." - Link.

Interesting, but $399 sounds expensive for a 133MHz 486.

NYCwireless's park hotspots use embedded linux, so when Make profiles Linux starter kit, it's news.
I love MAKE. Unfortunately, this kit isn't as good as others. It could use a bigger compact flash card, a better OS, and a better case. In outdoor installations, the case looks like it would roast in ten minutes of direct sunlight.
The Metrix and The Wrap Box are good choices:

NYCwireless has used the Metrix boxes. They're nice.

Get a Linksys WRT54GL and you've just saved about $240.00

I like the Technologic Systems ARM boards better (TS-7200 and so on). But commenter #1 has a point that a WRT54GL is a decent embedded linux box and damn cheap.
