For $39, the "Super ear" looks like a lot of fun, this might make the next tech conference a lot more interesting... worst case, it'll be fun to take apart and see if I can make even more super - "What binoculars did for vision, this product does for listening. An easy hack for this...buy a 12" metal mixing bowl, mount this dead center (possibly dremel through and attach from back...give it some directional gain. Parabolic baby...parabolic.

doesn't help much, at least in older versions behind that big condom of foam, the mic faces dead forward
of course any good Maker would flip it around and rig some odd rubberband, toothpick and LED scafolding across the front of the bowl
and while you'd look like a complete tool, so much so that you can actually hear the birds laughing at you, you would know your super ear thingy was now just slightly better

I was going to go with a good joke about using a "larger" then needed condom of foam, but I don't want to imply anything.
I actually have a great mental image of the flashing LEDs engulfing the toothpick and rubber band rig. I may have to do that this weekend. Would go superbly with my tin foil hat and miscellaneous armaments.
