You would need to check out PixelBlocksDigital Stained Glass™ Creator feature to recreate something like this with any picture you want - at any size. What's nice about this software feateure/process availble online is that it 'automagically' takes the image apart into the seperate blocks that you would need. It's a four step process and PixelBlocks outputs a parts list, price list and a PDF with all the pages gridded out for assembly.
This software could probably be used to create patterns for other stained glass objects or even the old-school cross-stitch pattern for the Craft! folks.
