Troika's SMS Projector

Troika
I like the cool hunting videos. In one of their recent videos, they showed Troika's SMS projector. I postulate that they have a phone in there and they took the lcd screen off and put it in just the right place so that it would be in the same place as film if it were a camera, then they have a halogen light behind it and the light shines through the lcd, through the long camera lens and onto unsuspecting people's backs. How would you make it? - Link

Looks like a slide projector hacked up a little bit.

that thing is from january of 2005... its nice to see an actual update... wish they'd do a how to... get the word out on how it was made. I know its a light/cell phone/camera lense... but its a damn fine idea, and should be documented.

I'd say that's a Nokia 3310 that's been hacked, looking at the size of the font and the 'Options' at the bottom. They're very simple to open up and their LCDs are roughly the same size as a 35mm slide.

But yeah, a howto would be fab.

It could be an opaque projector.
