Fake Bluetooth Phone

Phoney
Stephen needed a bluetooth case mod to functionally hide his snazzy phone!

When i got my $1000/€900 I-mate JasJar last week I certainly wanted to do anything possible to stop it being stolen, So I came up with the idea of having a phone shell that has a bluetooth headset mounted inside so it doesn't appear that i have a JasJar, but instead a cheap old phone, in my case a Nokia 3330. - Link

Clever hack. But I question the basis for the hack, as you can also just sport a $50 bluetooth headset to hide your 1000 cellphone.

This guy wants to hide the fact that he has an expensive bluetooth cellphone - a $50 bluetooth headset would say "I have an expensive bluetooth phone in my pocket", which is not really hiding the phone at all.

This hack says "I have a cheap phone" and nobody is aware that it is actually just a "remote handset" for the expensive bluetooth phone in his pocket. Very clever.

lame. Half the fun of owning cool gadgets is showing them off. Just keep an eye on your i-mate. If you know where it is, there's not reason why it should be stolen. Don't walk around dark alleys where you'd be mugged and don't leave it in your car.
