For residents of the frozen tundra, like me, knitting these a bit bigger than they need to be...then shrinking in the washing machine will create a denser, more windproof earcover. You have to use real wool for this "felting" process to work. Lace something man-made or cotton through the strap tubes so they don't felt shut in the wash.
