Microsoft is showing off their multi-touch table "Surface" complete with RFID, wireless, sensors and a whole lot of other things (watch the Popular Mechanics video on how it works)... You can't buy one, but they will be appearing in a couple casinos and some stores to demo... Link.

Reminds me of the computer in the movie TRON (1982) I always thought this desk/table keyboard was cool! Even thought of making something like this interface; Linux, BSD, based of course. But don't have a use for it.
Also reminds me of 'Microsoft BOB' and some GUI for Apple//e and 'Commodore 64' that tried to make the "desk top" look like a 'desk top'

Did anyone else think of the screens from "Farenheit 451?" Though they were not quite as interactive as these are, the one guy talking about being surrounded by these (wallpaper, etc.) was enough to give me a strange feeling.
But in general, I think it's a great idea for corporate applications. I don't think it's ready for home use yet, though, as I would much rather sit in a comfy hair and type than lean over a table constantly.
And what about Doritos fingers?

Multi touch isn't new but I'm glad Microsoft is marketing it to the masses instead of waiting for a "beta" from research labs. Here are more popular
