RSSTwo new Instructables about pinhole photography showed up this week. If you've never played around with non-digital photography, this is a really fun. Being in a dark room and seeing your own lensless photos appear magically in a tray of chemicals is a magical experience that everyone should have!
Zoneplates are like pinholes, but they have tiny rings instead of one hole and they give a slightly different effect than a pinhole. RCline goes into detail on how to design your own and get them printed out by a printer. - Link
LennyB used camera boxes and bellows to make an 8x10 pinhole camera. The great thing about pinhole cameras is that they can be made out of anything! - Link

Nice Mac Cam! I once saw a book where a teacher had asked his students to make pinhole cameras out of weird stuff and a student made one out of a crabshell! Pinhole casemods are awesome!

I just saw your mention of pinhole and zoneplate imaging. The problem I have had with making zone plates is find an imagesetter to generate the film. I don't want to show my age too much but I can remember when you couldn't find a Linotronic 'cuz they were expensive. Now you can't find one 'cuz they're obsolete.
If you all have any tips on where someone can get that kind of output generated, it would be a public service.

Interesting thing about a Fresnel zone plate is it's basically a hologram of a lens. A synthetic hologram in this case. With a fast computer and a basement darkroom it should be possible to make holograms of much more complicated objects.
