A Stirling engine in a teacup

This attractive cup-perched craft project is actually a working papercraft model of a Stirling engine being sold by a Germany science novelty catalog. Sitting on your tea or coffee cup, the heat (or cold) from within will power the engine for up to an hour. The kit costs EUR21.90 (around US$30).

This reminds me a good deal of the American Sterling Company, particularly it's MM-5 kit: http://www.stirlingengine.com/ecommerce/product.tcl?usca_p=t&product_id=25
It's much more expensive, but also seems to be a bit sturdier. Anyone have any experience with this?

I've wrote Thinkgeek.com and asked them to look into carrying these in the US. I urge others to do the same!

That's a great idea, Malic. I'll do the same. I would definitely give these as Christmas presents.
