When i was about 4, i decided that i wanted to be an inventor when i grew up. My first invention was to take every piece of yarn from around our house and tie it into one long string, and roll it into a big ball. It was dubbed "the long thing." The idea was that my mom could hold onto the end, and I could take the ball with me as I roamed the house, unravelling it as I went. That way, I was free to explore, but knew where she was in case the bees/snakes/evil skeletons began to chase me, as they are wont to do.A couple years later, I built a complex booby trap in the tree in our front yard out of capsela (anybody else have capsela?) designed to dump a large bucket of water on the paperboy, who lived in the house behind us and had been throwing water balloons at my dog earlier that week. Bastard.
