Multi-touch virtual pizza cutting knife
Mmmm, virtual pizza (cutting) -
To demonstrate how much easier it is to use two handed multi-touch interaction instead of traditional interaction, Matthijs created a two handed multi-touch virtual pizza cutting knife for his graduation assignment at Working Tomorrow. Skip the first 75 seconds if you want to go straight to the demo.Multi-touch virtual pizza cutting knife - Link.

Wow, did that provided any information or examples of why multitouch is better?

I am waiting for the multi-touch "shoe-tying video".
Seriously. I figure that $10,000 worth of cutting edge technology might save me some time in the morning when I'm putting my shoes on. I just hope that they get the machinery down to small size before releasing it... my multi-touch back scratcher machine weighs like 200 lbs. It's so bad that I have actually had to resort to the direct interface: I sort of reach around and use my finger to scratch the itchy part of my back. It's a bit complicated to describe...
Anyway I am going to publish a DIY on the manual back-scratching technique, and hopefully you'll see it here in the blog under 'cutting edge' manual-touch back scratching technology.

Oh come on... this wasn't a product, it was a demonstration of using a multi-touch interface to create a non-abstract, real-world tool metaphor. The fact it was a pizza cutter is beside the point; it was goofy, but that goofiness appears deliberate. The second example -- the laced strips of paper -- was better.
