Each LilyPad was creatively designed to have large connecting pads to allow them to be sewn into clothing. Various input, output, power, and sensor boards are available. Star Simpson didn't do anything illegal. Sure, some trailblazers in electronic fashion will get hassled at the airport, but we've got to start somewhere. We can't go on forever afraid of "the man." Of course some discretion is advised. If you wear a display that counts down to zero, you might cause a panic, akin to yelling "fire" in a crowded theater. And that, alas, is illegal.
