I didn't realize so many people bring large scissors with them when they fly. Pocket knives, Leatherman tools, and other stuff can sometimes be found tucked into the mulch in planters around the airport, especially near the security checkpoint as that's where people stash them sometimes if they accidentally brought something they don't want confiscated, though these areas are routinely checked now because of that (but you never know!). Hmmm, is there a bin full of confiscated homebrew electronics projects I could pick through to get free parts?

Neat also how does one go about abtaining what the TSA pilfers from passengers?
BTW stolen is a good term for anything the TSA confiscates it's one reason I try to avoid using the airlines when I can.

I buy my TSA confiscated knives from resellers on ebay.

This is some very good advice from Steven Holden:
When I go on travel I have a self-addressed envelope with two first class stamps on it to mail something back that has been "captured." It saved him from loosing his Leatherman twice.

As sleepydog said, if you goto ebay do a search for NTSA or just TSA (in both description and title).

As for the envelope idea, the observation that I have, is if you are remembering to get an envelope and stamp it, couldn't you just use that memory to realize that your are carrying something on the plane that might get confiscated?
