I've never been much of a Facebook application user, but I've got a backlog of requests from friends who use them... Scrabulous, IQ tests, vampires, etc. I poked around the Facebook application directory and I can sort by popular, active, and newest applications, but I got to wondering about the kinds of applications that would interest Hackszine readers: really neat hacks that use the platform in a freaky way, cool applications that a hacker put together in their free time, and interesting mashups that pull data from a variety of places.
Have you come across anything wild and hackish on Facebook? What can you tell me about the application and the author? What cool stuff is going on under the hood?

The ones I've found most interesting/useful are those that hook into other systems like Flickr, last.fm, twitter, del.icio.us, flixster, etc. It's a handy way to consolidate all my different virtual "identities" in one place.
I don't have any interest in the vamp/zombie/food-fight apps, but that's probably just me.
On a more personal note, Facebook is getting me back in touch with people I haven't seen or talked to in ten, fifteen, even twenty+ years. It's unique in that respect. People who definitely weren't computer-literate, BBS-haunting geeks "back in the day". :-)

I'd love a sort of screencast tour of facebook apps like this...I feel like I should know more about them, but haven't yet made the time to explore them.
