VectorMagic is a site that turn images in to vector art, this is very useful for folks who do animation, Adobe Flash, illustrations and laser cutting/etching... For kicks I uploaded the MAKE logo in JPG format, here's a screenshot (before and after) not bad! - [via] Link & their comparisons.

Im not quite sure why someone using flash or illustrator would use this tool, since it got less options and i experienced a longer processing time. But for someone without access to those tools this could be very useful with its wizard-esqe interface. Or maybe i missed something

That's quite good!
I've used the open-source potrace (and its various frontends) a few times; potrace is about on a par with the commercial offerings, in my experience.

Not bad at all. Flash and Illustrator both have bitmap vectorizing tools built in.
For years before they integrated a simplified version of Adobe Streamline into Illustrator, I was doing this inside of Flash. It was one of those hidden tools back then, and was pretty hard to control.
It's still there today, try it by selecting a graphic on the stage and go to Modify->Bitmap->Trace Bitmap...

I watched the tips and tricks video, and I have to say I like it. There's not much you can do in the other packages unless you start messing with the settings or the final result vectors, but they've got a pretty easy bitmap paint system to fix the minor issues before you go to vector.
I know it's probably using some web server ImageMagick and SVG tricks, but I'd love to see a standalone version for Linux. Would make a killer companion to Inkscape.
