I really like Rebecca Lesiak's quilt made from security blankets, the nuclear cross stitch pillow & the knitted caution tape is nice too - Link.

I'd also call it crochet, not knitting... but I like the idea!
(Of course it's not really new, that you can knit and crochet anything long and narrow enough... but still an interesting result.)
