I put together a write-up here:

on getting automatic exposure bracketed photos with a Canon Powershot (ensures that the photos are properly aligned between shots) And I wrote a Python script that automatically does the exposure blending (for the Python fan-boys). It's all fairly automated and has shown me good results. I hope some of you find this useful and time-saving.
