Mark's work is indeed compelling, with dark noir-esque feeling. For a more colorful, pop-art look, don't miss Portland artist Mona Superhero (http://www.monasuperhero.com/), who works with multicolored duct tape.
Full disclaimer: I've not purchased any of Mona's work, but I'm a fan. I've met her in person once, when she adopted a kitten from me.
