MAKE Flickr photo pool member Osbock has some great shots of the eclipse from last night -

Photos of the 2-20-2008 total lunar eclipse. By the time I had finally found my ancient 500mm reflex-nikkor, the eclipse was nearing totality. Also it was very very cold! There were a few wispy coulds which affected the images a little. These were 1 second exposures.

Im really mad by the time the eclipse had started we got a bunch of clouds that was covering the eclipse the entire time.

Did anyone else happen to see it with binoculars? With the lighting as it was, the moon popped suddenly into 3D and became a sphere instead of a circle. After a while, once I took down the binoculars, I still saw it as a ball. It was an amazing change. I am sure my brain was incredibly off in my sense of distance and scale, but the effect was mesmerizing.

It was surprisingly clear in Portland, OR.

I was also lucky enough to get a few nice shots. Now I just wish that I had a telephoto lens!
