RSSMake SMT probe Tweezers
Here is how to make some nice little tweezers from recycled circuit boards. You can even wire them up to your multimeter and check the resistance of your components. This would have been a popular tool at the last MAKE:NYC meeting.
Ever since I started salvaging SMT components, I thought it'd be great to have a pair of tweezers wired as meter probes -- grab the component, pick it up to put away, and check its value all at the same time. There actually are such things available, but the ones I've found start at $35 with a custom connector for that manufacturer's meter. Not much to my liking.

they are very pretty -- but I'm a bit concerned about handling more lead than I have to.

Fun, I am using a real tweezer for that purpose, cut in half. The tweezer came as a free gift token for some larger order and was basically rubbish. Fare to soft metal to do any heavy-duty tweezer work with it :-)
I drilled two wholes trough the end, and then separated the two legs. Which was very easy to do. A piece of circuit board between the legs, also with two drilled holes, and some plastic screws hold the legs together again. A wire on each leg, squeezed between the circuit board and the leg and isolating everything except the tips with heat shrink tube completes my professional tweezer probe :-)
