The iShoes - motorized shoes

This isn't a MAKE project (I think) they're the "The iShoes". Motorized shoes that go up to 13.5mph, weigh about 12lbs and have a 3 mile range. I tried to email them with some questions, but they seem to be popular at the moment "child status 100...The e-mail message could not be delivered because the user's mailfolder is full"- [via] Link.

When did it become a successful marketing strategy to name your product by just throwing the letter "i" in front of it?
