I checked out the Instructables but they're pretty nonspecific about what I need to soder and to where. I'm not doing this with condoms, but I would like to know anyways...

They just used condoms to get attention of people, because you can use anything to get this same effect.
In other words, they were just trying to make money on Metacafe and they used something weird and shocking.
They succeeded.

i wouldn't normally say such things, but... that's gotta be the gayest mod ever :)
in a purely objective way of course, no judgmentalism, as i also think it's pretty cool
